A Birthday Trip to the Lake District

What: 4 nights in a tiny cottage
When: November 2018
Distance from home: About 280 miles
Length of adventure: 4 nights

Details:  We decided to go away to the Lake District for my birthday and stayed in a lovely little cottage in a valley with no reception and only sheep for neighbours.

What did we do:
The weather was very hit and miss while we were there so planned our walks around the rain! One day it did rain all day so we drove out to Ullswater and I quickly took some photos out of the car window!

We were staying in the Kentmere Valley so did some lovely walks around there, we also went to Windermere and walked up to Orrest Head to admire the view of the lake – it is in that spot that Alfred Wainwright fell in in love with the Lake District on his first trip there in 1930, hence why it is known as ‘the view that changed a young man’s life’.

When it was raining we stayed in our cosy cottage cooking and doing a puzzle I was given for my birthday.
